Hello Parent Members!
Hi, I’m a proud mom of a beautiful 28-year-old daughter with cerebral palsy and several comorbidities. Raising her has been an incredible journey—one filled with challenges, growth, and moments of profound connection. When I was navigating those early years, I often felt alone. It wasn’t until I found a small circle of other parents in similar roles that I began to feel supported and empowered.
That’s why I’m so excited to serve as the “Head Barista” in the My Parent Café Cerebral Palsy village. While I’m not an expert, I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge through my experiences advocating for my daughter, teaching her to advocate for herself, navigating educational systems, and collaborating with medical professionals. This path has taught me that even without a manual, we adapt and persevere when it matters most.
It’s a privilege to share what I’ve learned, connect with others, and help parents find the support I wish I’d had from the start. Raising my daughter has shown me the kindness and resilience of people, and I’m continually inspired by her strength and determination.
I can’t wait to meet you and support your journey. Find me in the MPC community app under @cpmom!
Warmly,
@cpmom

Hello Parent Members!
Hello! My name is Aubrey, and I’m thrilled to join My Parent Cafe as the newest moderator for the Cerebral Palsy subcommunity. I’m 27 years old and live with a moderate case of Ataxic Cerebral Palsy, which affects my mobility and speech. Living with CP has shaped my perspective and resilience, and combined with my education and career, it has given me a deep understanding of the disability community. My goal is to use these experiences to support and empower this community to the best of my ability.
While living with CP has had its challenges, it has also been a source of strength and purpose in my life. Embracing my disability and allowing it to guide my path has led me to incredible opportunities and a meaningful career. I’ve always been determined not to let anything—including my disability—stand in the way of living a full life. At the same time, I’ve prioritized the lessons and values CP has taught me, which has helped me achieve my lifelong goal of working directly to help others with disabilities.
To pursue this passion, I earned a Master’s Degree in Recreational Therapy, focusing on how to empower people with disabilities to lead enriched lives. During my studies, I gained hands-on experience working with individuals across a wide range of disabilities and contributed to research advocating for disability inclusion. Today, I manage a nonprofit called Adaptive Arena, which provides free adaptive sports for people of all abilities, and I also work as a Special Education Teaching Assistant. I’m excited to bring both my personal and professional experience to My Parent Cafe and look forward to connecting with and supporting this amazing community!
Warmly,
@SymbioticCP

With a master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and expertise in alternative treatments for health and wellness, I brings a unique, holistic approach to healing and personal growth. I am is particularly knowledgeable in stem cell therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and frequency-based therapies—modalities I have explored and embraced both personally and professionally. My passion lies in helping families discover options that support deeper healing, improved quality of life, and lasting well-being.
I'm especially committed to supporting fellow moms—particularly those raising children with disabilities—believing that no one should walk this path alone. I know firsthand that connection makes everything better.
Whether I'm playing pickleball, flowing through a hot yoga class, or simply watching birds in the quiet of nature, I find strength and joy in the present moment. I live by the belief that sharing our stories and supporting one another is how we heal, grow, and thrive—together.
Live well, love strong.

If you know a parent of a CP child, please send them the link to this page so that they can join. MyParent Cafe - Cerebral Palsy - doesn't replace any of the existing communities that exist on traditional social media. We see this as a complimentary and ultimately safer and more helpful platform.
We're also looking for a few more Baristas for this CP community. Baristas are the moderators and community stewards. As we grow, I do hope to invite a mix of parents, medical providers, education and behavioral specialists and non-profit representatives to help ensure the community needs are met.
Finally. We are looking for CP PERK providers. Any product, service or non-profit dedicated to helping to meet the needs of the CP parent community are invited to submit an interest form on our PERK page. We'll be sure to get back to you right away.
